Fight Amp

I’m not sure how much further this record could’ve climbed—or how far it might have fallen—if I had discovered this record earlier. It is certainly the album of the moment, one that I’m still coming to grips with, and one I might have easily overlooked were it not recommended to me by Christian and Steven from Whores. New Jersey’s Fight Amp is a band that plays with reckless aggression, a blistering torrent of distortion and aggro-rock fury delivered with sledgehammer force. For all I know the lyrics could be about masturbating monkeys or a violent uprising of renegade Smurfs; for now it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that this trio plays music that makes me feel invincible, that makes me want down a fifth of Everclear, take to the streets, and pick a fight with a rabid polar bear and a gang of circus midgets. This album is the shit and everyone needs to take a big whiff.
