It only makes sense that in a music scene as eclectic and varied as Atlanta’s, we would have a diversity of voices with a wide spectrum of views and opinions about what is going on in independent music both here and around the nation. And much like many of our city’s bands and artists have discovered that working together in cooperation can lead to increased interest and participation from local music fans, so too have many of us local music writers banded together to support one another. So when Denton Poteet, music writer for Little Advances, began making inquiries about who would be interested in participating in a roundtable discussion about the state of local music and beyond, I, for one, jumped at the chance.
In a recent post, Denton described our endeavor as such:
Basically, we set out to have a conversation about the year in music, with an emphasis on Atlanta music since that is where we are all based. You are going to get to see the results [tomorrow], in a multi-part post that will be rolled out over the course of a few days.
To be exact, the results will be rolled out over the course of the next 4 days with each of the 8 participating sites hosting an exclusive chunk of the content. Here is the schedule for the entire roundtable, as well as links to where you will be able to find all the pieces:
Part 3 – Latest Disgrace (Moe Castro)
Part 4 – Atlanta’s A-List (Rube Ambler)
