Quite possibly the biggest chorus ever committed to wax. Prefaced by a churning, gyrating verse riff with a sweet but dissonant melody that only Chino can pull off. This is an example of a perfect rock song. This is how it’s supposed to be done, people. Take notes.
Deftones have eclipsed their own best with this one. It is either a return to form or a new chapter in their evolution. Either way, it will slay. Guaranteed. After a couple of albums that left something to be desired, Diamond Eyes is poised to bring Deftones success they’ve not seen since 2000′s White Pony. All the pieces are there: skinny Chino, Steph stepping up his riff game, a newly cemented rhythm section with Sergio Vega and Abe, and crystal clear production. This record is going to be something special. Trust me.
