SHOW PREVIEW: WUOG Fest

WUOG Festival Athens

WUOG is the all-voluteer student-run radio station of the University of Georgia, serving the community of Athens. Except for the occasional show, I’m rarely in this neck of the woods, and I can’t actually say that I’ve ever listened to 90.5FM. But judging from the lineup for Saturday night’s third and final leg of their inaugural WUOG Fest, they’ve got some pretty good taste in music.

The three day mini-fest starts tonight with a free 18+ show at Farm 255 spearheaded by Marshmallow Coast. The fun continues on Friday with another free 18+ show at Go Bar that sees spacey, electronic experimentalists, Abandon the Earth Mission, finishing things off. But the primary focus and bulk of attention for the fest has to be focused on Saturday night’s closing show at the 40 Watt. Fun-loving, disco-inflected art-pop peddlers, Reptar, headline the show, supported by the majestic sounds of Latest Digrace faves, Venice is Sinking and Oryx and Crake. Local outfits Bigfoot and Green Gerry open the show. You can find the details for all three events below.
