As if Mastodon’s current tour weren’t killer enough, sporting a lineup that boasts both mathcore extremists the Dillinger Escape Plan and aggro enthusiasts Red Fang, the hometown metal lords have decided to ratchet up the party atmosphere by adding flower punk ne’er-do-wells the Black Lips to this Friday’s hometown throwdown at the Tabernacle. And if that four-pronged assault on your eardrums isn’t enough to lure you in, then perhaps the fact that Atlanta rockers Tiger! Tiger! and MonstrO have also been added to the bill will be enough to tempt you to come out to one of the best remaining shows in 2011. The local soup is certainly thick in this one, but make sure to get there early (doors open at 5pm) if you want to experience all the flavors.
