Originally available as a B-side to their 2010 limited-edition holiday single (only 50 copies were released to the public), “Dirty Souls” finds A Fight to the Death sounding quietly confident, full of verve and smoky charm. It’s a song that succeeds in part on the strength of its details—the gentle pulse of the organ, the softly shuffling drums, the spiraling guitar wailing in the distance. In truth, it’s a tale of two halves, with the first leaning towards a more reflective sound and the second taking on a decidedly more upbeat direction, full of jangly guitars and driving rhythms.

Thanks for posting this, and for the kind words! And actually, Ruby Velle plays first, then Noot, and then we headline on Friday 1/14 at the Masquerade – the show poster and event page had it backwards!
Thanks for the correct info, guys! We’ve updated the article and our ATL Concert Roundup as well.
