Here’s some perfect Sunday morning listening for you: a short but sweet psych funk rock jam that rides in on the wave of an infectious drum and bass groove before dissolving two minutes later in a pyschedelic haze of stuttering guitars and washed-out vocals. Along the way Places fills the track with an assortment of swirling guitars, clattering percussion and varied vocal melodies, none of which could be considered an actual hook, but put together somehow retain a catchiness that is pleasing to the ear. It’s another strong effort from Places (if a bit fleeting) and a must listen for any fan of Atlanta’s experimental pop underbelly. Check it out below.
