Tele Noir is a new synth and guitar-driven dance pop project from A Fight to the Death frontman, CJ Bargamian. Musically it’s more glossy and ebullient than AFTTD’s smoky rock and eclectic gypsy soul, but fans of the veteran Atlanta group should find plenty to like in Bargamian’s infectious, hook-heavy vocals, if not his thumping basslines and uptempo beats. Personally, I’d like to see him take his tracks out back and rough them up a bit to give them more of a jagged edge, but as a starting point, they certainly show some promise.
Currently, Bargamian has three singles available for free download. The best of these is “Pity for the Pretty Ones,” a glitzy, pulsing electro-rock number that maintains a wiry tension throughout. Check it out below, and then head over here to the Tele Noir Bandcamp page to grab the other two.
