On the heels of their dope debut single, “Hologram Wrist,” electronic duo Hydrabadd are back to deliver another adventurous, wild-eyed soundscape, this one going by the title “The Yungest Boi Alive.” Much like its predecessor, the movements here are as textural as they are rhythmic and melodic, all of which allows for a heady aesthetic that runs deeper and denser than a mere progression of swerving synths and spine-contorting beats. There’s a spectral grace to the duo’s melodies; the way they drift and flutter around the abstract percussion helps weave a dreamlike tapestry of sound that is as interested in delivering a serene sense of calm as it is in sending bodies colliding into motion.
