Dear Mice in Cars,
This raw shit you’re dropping on your new Good Men Are Monsters single is working for me. The first track was a little lackluster, but I’m feeling “Six Months on Mir.” You say you recorded this in your rehearsal space at Thunderbox? Kudos gentlemen, this sounds NASTY. It’s lo-fi, but still crisp and urgent. So you know what? I’m thinking ALL YOUR SONGS SHOULD SOUND LIKE THIS. No lie. Lose the clean vocals, keep the aggro screaming. And those rough-and-tumble guitars? Keep them too. Only go a little more scuzzy and angular with them—there’s some early Dischord era post-punk lurking in there somewhere, I know it. Atlanta needs more sneering, visceral gut punch rage to counter the incessantly sunny psychedelia and garage-pop euphoria that’s constantly being hurled at our earholes. I know it, you know it. So keep it up boys. Push harder. Go darker. Be more vicious, and more reckless. I mean it.
Sincerely,
Latest Disgrace
