Perhaps it’s just an isolated fit of productivity, but in less than a month’s time, Michael Mohan Jordan has managed to release almost as much music through his new solo project, Nobra Noma, as his former band, Cassandras, did in its entire existence. To be fair, it doesn’t hurt that Jordan can put himself inside a recording studio and crank out four songs in a nine hour period as he reportedly did with his latest EP, Everything Happens Today. The four-song effort, released this past Tuesday, finds Jordan weaving sprightly melodies amidst a spattering of electronic beats and an array of electrified guitars. At times the sound is lush and dreamy, at others it’s rollicking and fuzzy, but overall it’s a surprisingly intricate and unified record, given the quick turnaround.
Check out the lead track below. If you like what you hear, the entire EP can be downloaded through Bandcamp for whatever price you choose.
