Athens duo powerkompany, aka Marie Davon of Venice is Sinking and Andrew Heaton of Packway Handle Band, only recently released their debut EP, but already there seems to be a quiet grace in everything they do. Their songs are spare, soft, languorous things that are slow to unwind and heavy on mood and spacious atmosphere. On Valentine’s Day the duo released a video for EP closer, “Dear Boy,” and while it’s far from inventive, the smoky-watery swells and plumes provide a mesmerizing backdrop for the song’s sparse rhythms and Davon’s gorgeously hushed vocals.
