VIDEO: We All – “Manual” (feat. Marie Davon)

Back in September of last year, local folk rockers We All released the three-song EP, The End of the Reeling, which I missed out on entirely. While that in itself is all that surprising (I’m sure there were dozens of records that flew under my radar in 2011), what matters to me is that there is a very good chance that I missed out on a gem. Or at least that’s the impression I get from watching this video for their new track “Manual” featuring guest vocals and viola work from Marie Davon of powerkompany and Venice is Sinking. It’s a warm and pensive folk number highlighted by a lovely exchange of vocals between Davon and band frontman Mike Boutté. It’s also one that suggests that We All compose their songs with the sort of hushed, tranquil moodiness and elegant simplicity that I find appealing about most great folk music. I try never to make grand declarations about any one track, but let’s just say that I’ll be giving that EP a listen very soon. Enjoy.
