ATL Concert Roundup — March 18-24

Atlanta Film Festival: Sound and Vision

THIS WEEK’S BEST BET:

Atlanta Film Festival: Sound & Vision
w/ Gringo Star, Dog Bite, PLS PLS, Tikka, Cute Boots, Shantih Shantih
Wednesday, March 20
The Goat Farm – 1200 Foster Street in Atlanta 30318
$10 / Purchase Tickets

On Wednesday night, the Goat Farm will host an evening filled with local bands, art, food trucks, music videos and experimental film called Sound & Vision. It’s all part of this year’s Atlanta Film Festival, which kicked off on Friday and continues through March 24th. Throwback rockers Gringo Star and dream-pop outfit Dog Bite (fresh off the release of their debut album, Velvet Changes) headline the musical festivities, which will also include performances from personal faves PLS PLS, as well as Tikka, Cute Boots and relative newcomers Shantih Shantih. In addition to the live music, guests will also be able to experience four unique art installations, a Shoebox Gallery “Dead Weight” exhibition, and a series of experimental films in the Rodriguez Room. But the most interesting part of the evening (at least for me) is the music video competition, which will feature well over a dozen videos created by some of Atlanta’s finest filmmaking talent. Throw in some delicious food truck action from Good Food Truck, Yumbi and Sweet Auburn BBQ and you’ve got all five senses covered for just a measly $10.
