SHOW PREVIEW: Atlanta Bloodbath

Black Tusk

Sludge metal titans Black Tusk are no strangers to Atlanta. The Savannah natives have been touring through here on the regular since their inception in 2005, spreading their gospel of filthy swamp metal and bruising hardcore. On Saturday night, the trio will be back in town once again, this time as headliners of the first annual Atlanta Bloodbath, a three night celebration of all things loud, fast and heavy to be held at Star Bar. Presented by No Way Entertainment, the festival is described as “three nights of the most brutal metal and hardcore Atlanta has to offer,” and looking at the lineup, it’s hard not to get amped up. The brutality kicks off tomorrow night with a free show featuring an array of punk and hardcore acts, including Miami-based grindcore outfit Terrorist. On Friday, the focus shifts more towards metal with local doom trio Order of the Owl headlining, although make sure not to miss powerviolence quartet Cheap Art, who will be celebrating the release of their Desocialized 7-inch. On Saturday the festivities conclude with death metal stalwarts Mangled and Death of Kings leading the charge before Black Tusk comes in to finish everyone off. Check out the full schedule below.
