STREAM: PLS PLS – “Pigs”

We’re exactly a week away from the release of PLS PLS’ sophomore record and first full length, LP LP, and while I’m still making my way through the album, my first impression is that it’s a more pop-oriented effort than their debut—one that tends to obscure it’s dark heart in a veil of anthemic melodies and punchy rhythms. But that doesn’t mean that the band has given up its ability to surprise and delight. Case in point is “Pigs,” a song that opens as moody rocker led by a spiraling guitar line, driving beat and hooky chorus, but eventually morphs into a prog-tinged psych jam before launching back into the track’s propulsive groove. Give it a listen below.

LP LP will be out on October 22 via El Camino Media.

PLS PLS will celebrate the release of LP LP on Friday, November 1 at 529. Supporting them will be Jungol and Women’s Work. Door open at 9pm. Admission is $7.
