Brother Hawk Announce First Annual Big Medicine Festival

Brother Hawk - Big Medicine Festival 2014

File this under unexpected.

From the outside looking in, it generally seems that local blues rockers Brother Hawk are some real down-to-earth dudes who get along with most everybody and are big supporters of the Atlanta music scene. And it’s no coincidence the past couple of years has seen them develop into one of the city’s emerging acts through a combination of hard work and a gritty yet soulful aesthetic that’s heavy on heart and hooks. The band clearly has the drive and dedication to accomplish a great many things. But organizing their own music festival? Sorry. Didn’t see it coming.

And yet, as they say: It’s all happening.

The first annual Big Medicine Festival will take place on Saturday, March 1 at the Basement and boasts a solid lineup that includes the likes of Death On Two Wheels, Big Jesus, StoneRider and more. There’s no explanation yet of why Brother Hawk is putting this festival together, except for, you know, why the hell not?, but let’s all just be glad that in addition to being a bunch of nice guys, they’re also a group of enterprising artists.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. More info, including the full lineup, can be found via Facebook.
