Little Tybee Teams with Red Bull Sound Select for Three New Videos, Unveils U.S. Tour Dates

Little Tybee

For anyone that’s had their head in the sand the past year or so, Red Bull Sound Select is a long-term initiative to bolster local music scenes by putting the spotlight on local artists, fans and tastemakers. In Atlanta, the far most visible aspect of this initiative have been the monthly music showcases put together and hosted by one of our four local curators—Creative Loafing, Word Productions, Tight Bros Network or Speakeasy Promotions. Past events have included a dynamic mix of both national and local artists ranging from Juicy J, Black Lips, Trinidad James, Power Trip and Reptar to Mood Rings, the Difference Machine, Sadistic Ritual and many more.

But probably much less known is the fact Red Bull Sound Select is also involved in small part with artist development. Through their Sounds of the City video series, the energy drink turned patron of the arts has sought to highlight rising bands by producing three live videos, each filmed in a different location that inspired the group’s music. Eclectic folk-rock sextet Little Tybee is the latest band to receive Sounds of the City treatment Little Tybee and it finds the band taking fans inside their recording studio for new single “Empire State,” a friend and collaborator’s puppet studio for another new cut, “Baritone,” and their home at the Goat Farm for the For Distant Viewing standout, “Fantastic Planet.” You can view all three videos below.

In addition to unveiling their trio of videos, Little Tybee have also announced dates for a summer U.S. tour. The five-week trek kicks off on June 27 in Savannah and then hits 529 the next day. From there the band will head out across the country to California, up the Pacific Northwest, and then back across the Midwest before finishing up on August 1 in Nashville.
