Sixteen ATL Records to Listen for in April

Hawks - Self-TitledLook, I’m a simple man. I don’t demand much. You could pretty much just hand me the new Hawks record and we could call it a month. But seeing as it’s spring, and spring always means an onslaught of new music, I suppose I owe it to myself to stick around and see what’s what. For the sake of brevity, I’m going to go ahead and take it for granted that the new Manchester Orchestra record will be well worth checking out, so what else is out there that’s piquing my interest? Well, there’s that upcoming split between abrasive punk upstarts Zoners and Onchi, for one. Two tracks each of jagged rhythms and boisterous melodies, all doused in piss and vinegar (that’s what I’m hoping for, at least). Then there’s the debut joint from sleaze-metal maniacs Gunpowder Gray, which could be promising. And finally, there’s the new EP from electro rockers Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun, which isn’t actually on this list yet because I can’t seem to find any damn information on the record except that it’s called Quads and there’s a release show planned for the 25th at Terminal West. Maybe that’s all we need to know. In any case, as usual, peep the full list below and keep checking back for updates as more information becomes available and new records are revealed.
